Adolph Spetman Beno

Adolph Spetman Beno passed away at home in Phoenix, Arizona on Monday, January 7, 2013.   He was known as Butzie to the family and as Al to friends.  He was born April 14, 1943 in Council Bluffs, Iowa and was the oldest of five children.

He graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in Council Bluffs in 1961 and Midland Lutheran College in Fremont, Nebraska in 1966.  He enlisted in the Air Force and was honorably discharged as a Captain.  He retired from IBM in 1993, then moved to Phoenix in 1994.  He enjoyed watching old movies and traveling.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph Beno, Jr. (Butz) and Gertrude Spetman Beno. He is survived by his life partner, Ed De La Ossa; one brother, Jim (Jane) Beno; three sisters, Martha (Allen) Burchett; Carolyn Beno; Trudy (Douglas) Beno-Hull, nieces, nephews and cousins.
