Alice Mae Horvath

Alice Mae Horvath Of Glendale Arizona passed away peacefully on November 19 at Banner Peoria Hospice, at age 93. She was born in Akron, Ohio, on September 6, 1920, where she attended Ligget Grade School and Central High . Alice graduated with honors and perfect attendance. Soon after she atttended the Business College of Akron University where she was the recipient of a one year certificate that allowed her to work her first professional job with BF Goodwrench as a Pool Clerk. At one point Alice Mae successfully ran for office and became the Village Clerk of Monroe Falls Ohio where she often made the front page of the Akron Beacon Journal for her outlandishly cheerful head wear. She also worked as an Executirve Secretary for Bear Furniture Company. AliceMae was an active member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) where she was a youth leader. She was deacon emeritus at First Christian Church of Glendale and active in the CWF and PrimeTimers. She was a musician, seamstress and traveler, and she loved color. On September 26th of 1941, Alice Mae married the love of her life George Horvath, culminating in 72 years of being by each other’s side while friends and family listened with delight as their conversations grew to become more laughter and smiles than words with more to say with each passing year. Alice Mae is survived by her husband George, two sons John and Wayne, grandsons Bryce and Ian and three wonderful great grandchildren Nelson, Gauge and Vera Lottie who all miss her very much. We will always remember her colorful spirit, kind way, delicious Monster cookies, and loving heart. Services will be held at First Christian Church (DOC), Glendale, on Friday, November 29, at 10 a.m. with interment at National Memorial Park to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests gifts in her memory to the First Christian Church (DOC), 6242 N 59th Ave., Glendale, AZ
