Eliza J. Shimek (Janie), 73, passed away December 4, 2013. Eliza was born and raised in Green Bay Wisconsin. She resided in Arizona the majority of her life, currently in the city of Glendale, AZ. Eliza is survived by her children Jackie (Jim) Shimek, Marcy (Paul) Ortiz and Todd (Terri) Shimek; grandchildren Kristi Mendoza, Rene Trujillo, Johnathan Minnesota; Kevin Ortiz, Daniel Ortiz; Todd Jr. Shimek, Asheigh Shimek and Jake Shimek. Eliza has one living sibling in Wisconsin, Donna Alberts. Eliza is also survived by many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Eliza will be greatly missed by all.

Eliza was a free spirit, not concerned about material items, instead she encouraged her children to enjoy the simple things in life. She was a great cook and enjoyed watching sports like March Madness college basketball to her beloved football team, The Green Bay Packers. Watching the Packers was an event not to be missed.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 20th 2013 at Best Funeral Chapel 9380 W. Peoria Avenue, Peoria,AZ 85345. Visitation is 5-6pm, Service and Rosary 6-7 pm followed by a reception.
