    Dad,

You were the best dad a girl could ask for in every way. I know losing Mom broke your heart. Now you are together for eternity with your true love. Brittni, Nikki and Ryan will always remember their beloved Pop Pop. Richard always thought of you as a father. He will miss you. You always said never say goodbye because that means we will never see each other again. So long, dearest Dad…. and with the grace of God may we meet again. I love you, Daddy.

    Love,
Mary Beth, Richard, Brittni, Nikki and Ryan

  5. Dear Elwood,

You have been more of a brother to me than brother-in-law over the years and I have always been grateful to have you since I was 5 years old. You and my sister Mary Alice have always been there for me. Now you are together again with my sister …. I will miss you very much. It won’t be the same without your jokes though.

One other thing Elwood, I will never forget how you always cared about my Mother and Father. Nothing was ever too much trouble for you when it came to Mildred and Waxie …..

    Love,

    Jogie

  6. Jason Daniel Caflin says:

Ya dirty little devil, does your mother know your out, with a hole in your pants and your dinky hangin out?
Pop-pop, you will surely be missed. I really looked up to you when I was a young boy. I am thankful that we got to go fishing in New Jersey during the summers of my youth. Wish we’d been together more during my growing years. I’ll never forget you.

    Your crybaby forever.

  7. Kathy says:

    Dear Dad,
I’m sorry that you are gone and I miss you.

I will remember the good times that we have shared in our last years together -singing country and western songs in the church parking lot – hamburgers, mashed potatoes, and frozen custard at Culvers – coffee and chocolate chip cookies at McDonalds. Ordering pizza and watching television together in the recliners. And Sam flopped on the floor. Sam loves you. He never wanted to leave your house.

I am very blessed that I had you and Mom as my parents. You have always been my best friends. And I am so glad that I had the opportunity to truly get to know you both over the past ten years. Not just as parents, but as good friends and companions. You are truly wonderful people. Didn’t we have wonderful times together? I will cherish and love you forever.

But now Mom and Dad, I know that you are both together. And you’ll never be apart again. And like you said, Dad, never say goodbye. So until we meet again Mom and Dad – you will always be in my heart..

  8. Brittni says:

    Dear Pop Pop,

You were the only grandpa I truly knew, the best in the world. You gave me my first car, making me a step ahead in my life. I’ll never stop thanking you and I don’t intend to be foolish and waste my gift.

Thank you for everything you have done for me, giving me my Mom, giving me my first taste of strawberry ice cream, taking me to my RE classes, always taking me to Dairy Queen after a dentist appointment, accompaning me for my confirmation, and giving me my first car. Also, thank you for being the kind and generous Pop Pop any person would be proud to have had the honor of knowing.

We will all miss you dearly, but at least you are reunited with Grammy and you aren’t suffering anymore. Say hi to Grammy for all of us, maybe a hug too.

    I love you.

    Your first tarb and sweetheart,
    Brittni
