Gary Eugene Tichota






Gary E. Tichota, 64, passed away on October 30, 2012 in Glendale, Arizona, with family by his side.


He was born on November 21, 1947 in Columbus, Nebraska. He married his high school sweetheart, Glenda Townsdin on July 13, 1968 in Fremont, Nebraska; they enjoyed 44 years of marriage and raised three children.  Gary retired from Hormel Foods in 2004 after 33 years of employment.


He and his wife, Glenda, retired to Glendale, Arizona in 2004.  Gary was a life long Nebraska Cornhusker fan, enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, spoiling his two dogs Molly & Abby, and most of all spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.


Gary is survived by his wife, Glenda; son Gary II and wife Diane of Omaha, Ne; daughter Tina and husband Eric of Strasbourg, Co, daughter Angie and husband Colby of Phoenix, Az; sister Sharon Denton & husband Larry of Omaha, Ne, sister Kathy Rhodes of Omaha, Ne and three nieces.


He is also survived by five grandchildren; Austin Lewis, Jared Lewis (Tina), Beck Tichota, Emily Tichota (Gary II) and Peyton Lingenfelter (Angie).


Gary is also survived by he & Glenda’s “bestest” friends, the Gottschall’s.


The family will be holding a private memorial service celebrating Gary’s life in Glendale, AZ.


Gary was preceded in death by his father Lumir Tichota and mother Lillian Tichota.

    Glenda, Tina, Gary Jr. and Angie. When you look to the heavens you will see the brightest star….that will be your Dad. and Husband and our “Bestest friend” and the twinkle we be the twinkle in Gary’s eye! We miss the times with all of the kids when we would “Rock Around The Clock” until broad daylight. We will all do it again when we meet Gary in heaven…Rock and Roll Heaven and you know they have a hell of a band! Yes we do believe in forever, just like our friendship.
