Sandra “Sandy” Lynn Bolar

Sandra “Sandy” Lynn Bolar, 73, went to be with the Lord on September 17th, 2012 in Scottsdale, AZ. Sandy was born on May 26, 1939 in Sedalia, MO to Ralph and Neva (Ruch) Porter along with brothers, Darrell and Bill. She graduated from Albany, MO High School and held an associate degree in business education from the University of Central Missouri. She married Larry Bolar on July 18, 1959. Sandy worked as a legal administrator and business college instructor. She was a dedicated volunteer to many organizations, including Boy Scouts, Junior League, P.E.O., Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority and she served on boards of The Wichita Youth Home and also the Residential Home for Boys. She was also involved in numerous church activities, and served, helping others, as a Stephens Minister at Grace Presbyterian in Wichita, KS. She dedicated her life to serving God, family, friends and community. Sandy was a precious child of God who always took the opportunity to share her love and faith with others. Sandy lived in Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas and for the last 24 years, Scottsdale, AZ. Sandy is survived by her husband of 53 years, Larry, their 3 sons & wives; Mike & Barb (Scottsdale), Mark & Dana (Prairie Village, KS), Dave & Kristen (Scottsdale) & her 2 brothers, Bill & Darrell Porter. Sandy adored & cherished her 9 grandchildren; Dana, Avery, Sam, Graham, Annalie, Maggie (deceased), Libby, Blythe & Ellory & her nephews & nieces. A memorial service will be held Friday, September 28th at the Scottsdale Bible Church chapel, ¼ mile east of the main church campus on Shea Blvd. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations in Sandy’s memory to The MDS Foundation (Myelodysplastic Syndromes Foundation) 4573 S.
